This litter box is so perfect precisely because of its simplicity.
My cat loves to kick his litter everywhere. So, after 5 boxes that had varying degrees of high walls, I realized I needed to get a full enclosure box.
This is the third I've gotten. The first two had walls + top you assembled and a pull out bottom tray. DO NOT GET THOSE! The assembled walls have thin open spaces that still allow litter to get out, and the bottom trays only slide out after you have manually brushed the litter inside them flat. Then, I was having to use a large paint brush to remove all the litter he'd kicked up onto the horizontal ledges all over the inside of the walls. And, even after doing that, it made a mess EVERYWHERE when trying to sift the litter clean.
This is an extremely straight forward box. No bottom tray (yay!) no crevices for litter to get caught or kicked into = NO MESS AT ALL! I've had to keep honeycomb mats under the previous boxes to trap the litter he got in his paws, but this one has the ridges built into the top to catch it all before he steps off it.
Brilliant design, super easy to remove the top, and such a cinch to clean!
I let my cat play in it for about 6 hours before filling it up, just to be sure he would like it. He loves it.
The hole is also big enough for a large cat---I'd say up to 20 lbs or so. My cat is 10 lbs and there's a huge amount of space for him.
And the box itself is also definitely big enough for average Maine Coons, if you were wondering. But its rounded shape means it takes up considerably less floor space than square boxes.
A truly innovative design, as litter boxes go.
It’s very nice that they top has ridges to get the cat litter off the cats paws after they do their business. I also like that the cat cannot miss and the litter is fully enclosed. This box is easy to clean and I do not use the bag liners that came with this litter box. This box seems to be high-quality and durable.
This box is aesthetically pleasing, and is very neutral and does not stand out like a regular cat litter box would in our house.
I have recommended this cat litter box to several of my cat lady friends.

This is it!! Very little litter on the floor. We waited to place litter. They played in it for 2 weeks and loved it. THEN I placed scoopable litter.
Now, I’ve reduced other boxes and swept less!!
Highly recommend.
Beige color.

The products have not aged - they look as clean and new as they did a year ago. They are very easy to clean out. I have had to wash them fully a few times and yes it's a bit bulkier than when washing a pan litter box but the plastic is very durable and feels like it doesn't retain any stains or odour whatsoever. When you clean it, it feels clean afterwards.
They are definitely superior at odour control and litter mess to a regular litter box. I live in a very small apartment and there is nowhere to put my litter boxes except in the front entry closet as you enter my apartment. Previously, my two cats would strew litter particles all over the apartment. These are now by-and-large captured by the lid of the box. There is still some mess at the front of the boxes, but hardly any comparative to what it was before, and no litter trails anywhere else in the apartment.
When I have guests over, I don't need to worry that the choice of the cats will lead to an unpleasant odour that everyone can smell.
A few things about switching over and cat behaviour after the fact:
1. I find the cats are less diligent about covering their business, because I think they can't figure out how to do it. So I sometimes have to do this for them now, which I guess is a drawback. But the superior odour control makes this point feel moot to me, because before they would cover their business and it still smelled awful. That's no longer the case
2. I tried to switch my cats over gently - with an open top pan litter still available. But they simply wouldn't do it if that was an option, I think it's just easier for them. On that basis I do not think this would work for a senior cat or cats with joint pain. I accept I'll have to switch away from these boxes when my cats are older. To get mine to switch I literally just threw out the pan boxes, and I had one top-entry box with the lid on, and one top-entry box with the lid off, so they could get used to its configuration. After a few days, I put the lid on both of them, and then the cats had switched over. The truth is they probably prefer a simpler box, but that's not my problem and their mental health doesn't appear to be impacted by this new system. They're just used to it now and think this is how using the litter works!

What we like about this new box: (1) it's more compact in overall dimensions compared to the equivalent walk-in box of the same size, yet, it's roomy inside; (2) the form and colours are more appealing; it doesn't even look like a litter box which is great as we use it in our home office; (3) the interior floor is absolutely flat making it easy for scooping; (4) the sidewall has no seam which eliminates urine leakage from spraying and contains litter inside the box; (5) the top comes off easily for cleaning, yet it’s solid and stable for a cat to stand on when it's in place; (6) the entry opening is big enough to allow scooping w/o taking the top off on regular basis [see the photo]; and (7) it seems to reduce litter-tracking outside the box.
The cons are a few but minor: (i) the supplied scooper is small and its holes are too big for the clumping pine litter that we use; (ii) the oval shape makes it a bit awkward to use a regular square-head scooper; and (iii) Not that it was hard to figure out, but it would have been nice to have a diagram or a half-page of instructions.
Our cat has never been very fussy about litter or box types, but she is getting older (almost 12 yrs old). Plus, she had never seen a top-entry litter box before, so we weren't sure how she would react to this box. Well, our worries were totally unnecessary. She figured it out in no time flat! At first she was very cautious and climbed into it very gingerly, but now (=Day 2) she just jumps right into it!
It remains to be seen how durable this box is, how long our cat will be able to or willing to jump into it, or if any other flaws will emerge in the near future, but so far both our cat and we are very happy with our purchase.
EDIT (2019/05/06): A family member pointed out that we had experimented with 2 more litter boxes in addition to the 5 we use: one was a "Booda Cleanstep Dome" and the other was an "Omega Paw Roll-N-Clean Box". We weren't sure if they were any good, so we purchased them on Kijiji and tested for a week. Unfortunately, neither of them was satisfactory; Booda was huge and didn't reduce litter-tracking and Omega kept spilling litter from the seams, so we quickly resold them on Kijiji. All in all, this IRIS top-entry box is the best so far for our cat and her humans.
EDIT (2021/09/13): Our cat just turned 14. She's still using this top-entry boxes. However, she has started to have a bit of trouble jumping out of the box. Her hind leg banged into the top as if she misjudged the height or she failed to jump high enough. We figure it's time to switch her back to walk-in boxes. Also, it's worth noting that we added a 5 lb weight at the top to gain more stability because the box almost toppled over once or twice (that we know of) when her body brushed against the opening while exiting. An oversized or not-so-agile cat may have the same trouble; keep a close eye to avoid any injuries.
